The working mind: employee course

Dates: September 25, 2026

Cost: $225.00 + GST

Description: The Working Mind is a workplace mental health training program developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada and delivered through Opening Minds and instructed by Pat Zazelenchuk of Pulse Check Mental Health. Designed to support healthier, more resilient workplaces, the course helps participants better understand mental health, recognize signs of declining or improving mental health and build practical skills to manage stress and support themselves and others. The program also works to reduce stigma and encourage more open, productive conversations about mental health in the workplace.

    • Mental Health and Stigma – Understanding mental health and mental illness and recognizing how stigma can affect individuals and workplace culture.

    • Mental Health Continuum – Learning to use the Mental Health Continuum as a tool to recognize changes in mental well-being and identify early warning signs in ourselves and others

    • Stress and Resilience – Exploring the effects of stress and developing practical coping and resilience strategies to maintain mental wellness.

    • Psychological Safety and Supportive Conversations – Building confidence in discussing mental health respectfully and creating a supportive, psychologically safe work environment.

Canadian Firearms Safety Courses (PAL & RPAL)

Dates: September 28 - 29, 2026

October 12 - 13, 2026

Time: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm

Location: CNAG Training Centre, 1102 - 6 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 7N7

Cost: $150 + GST per course, or complete both courses for $300 + GST

Description: The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) are designed for individuals seeking to apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) and/or Restricted Possession and Acquisition Licence (RPAL).

Day one covers the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (PAL) and day two covers the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (RPAL). Participants will receive the applicable course materials and, upon successful completion, a course report required as part of the PAL and/or RPAL application process.

  • Looking for training for a group or specific audience? CNAG can accommodate small and large groups of up to 30 participants, clubs and specialized sessions for women, seniors and youth. Hunter education training is also available.

    CNAG also provides consulting services related to safe firearm storage, the disposal of unwanted firearms and responsible firearms ownership and sporting use.

Intermediate First Aid

Location: CNAG Training Centre, 1102 - 6 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 7N7

Cost: $180 + GST

Description: Build the practical skills and confidence to respond effectively in a medical emergency with this comprehensive two-day (16-hour) Intermediate First Aid course, certified through the Canadian Red Cross.

The course runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day and includes CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive their Intermediate First Aid certification.

A lunch break will be provided each day. Please note that meals are not included.

This course is open to anyone looking to develop or maintain their first aid skills and certification.
